SYLLABUS FOR UPPER KINDERGARTEN (AGE 4 YEARS AND ABOVE)

the interest of the children).

Visual discrimination of the Alphabet and words
Pronunciation of words
Matching words Introduction of words and formation of sentences
b. Writing
The alphabet and commonly used words (Vowel based words)
Handwriting (writing practice with correct spacing and use of upper
and lower case)
Copy writing
3. Mathematics: 
Development of pre mathematic skills
Mathematic language e.g long/short, thin/thick, small/big, more/less,
lesser than/greater than, heavy/light
Counting numbers 1-100
Identification of numbers 1 – 100 between and after numbers
Greater than and smaller than 1 –20
Writing numbers 1 – 100
Number names 1- 50
Number operation of simple addition and subtraction with numbers 1- 10
Drawing and identifying geometrical shapes in any given figure
4. Physical development : Outdoor and indoor free play 
 Organized games
5. Creative Activities 
Supervised activities (e.g. tearing paper, cutting, pasting, collage work,
colouring and painting, clay modeling, folding, printing etc., (approx 25
activities per year)

The methodology for developing learning and speaking skills, reading and writing
skills to be introduced. Through conversation, rhymes, storytelling dramatization,
copy writing etc., (Suitable methodology given for language I can be picked up
and much more as most of the children have the familiarity with Language-II as mother tongue
